Kingsford Legion post backs baseball’s Blues

KINGSFORD — American Legion Post 363 of Kingsford has renewed sponsorship of the Kingsford Blues’ American Legion baseball team.
Legion Post 363, which made an $800 donation, hopes others will also make contributions.
“Much of this money was raised in a ‘Cabin Fever’ rummage sale conducted by American Legion Post 363 at the Veterans Center,” said post commander John Bartholomew.
Sale included hundreds of items donated by legionnaires and “some very nice new” furniture accessories donated from Ball & Christy Furniture in Iron Mountain.
“The support from merchants and the public was deeply appreciated and we hope to make this an annual fund-raising event for the team,” Bartholomew said.
The team was able to raise about $700 independently by bagging groceries at Econo Foods.
