Smell the billions

EDITOR:Americans, wake up and smell the billions.

There are billions of dollars being needlessly spent because our politicians are misdirected.

Each of us needs to make sure that a consistent message is sent to our representatives in Washington that their mission is to stop the absurd spending of our tax dollars. It’s Ridiculous-so please read on.

The war is a terrible expense and we are all aware of that, but I hope the following 14 reasons are going to be read so many times that everyone gets sick of them, including those in Washington.

There are things we can and should correct now. It’s our money and we need it now.

According to the internet, the following money is spent on illegal aliens each year.

1. $11 billion to $22 billion is spent on welfare to illegal aliens each year.

2. $2.2 billion each year on food assistance programs such as food stamps, WIC, and free school lunches for illegals.

3. $2.5 billion each year on Medicaid.

4. $17 billion is spent each year on primary and secondary school education for children here illegally, and they can’t speak a word of English.

5. $17 billion for education for the American-born of illegals, known as “anchor babies.”

6. $3 million a day is spent to incarcerate illegals.

7. 30 percent of all federal prison inmates are illegals.

8. $90 billion a year is spent on illegals for welfare and social services by the American taxpayers.

9. $200 billion a year is suppressed American wages are caused by the illegals.

10. Homeland Security reported that during 2005 there were 4 to 10 million illegals that crossed our southern border and as many as 19,500 illegals aliens from terrorist countries. Millions of pounds of drugs, cocaine, meth, heroine, marijuana, crossed into the U.S. from the southern border.

11. The National Policy Institute estimated that the total cost of mass deportation would be between $206 to $230 billion or an average cost of between $41 to $46 billion annually over a five year period.

12. In 2006, illegals sent home $45 billion in remittances back to their countries of origin.

13. The dark side of illegal immigration; Nearly 1 million sex crimes are committed by illegal immigrants in the U.S.

The total cost of all of this is a whopping $338.3 billion dollars a year. Are we that stupid?

If this doesn’t bother you then don’t bother contacting your representative, but it should and everyone of us needs to do something about this waste of our taxpayer dollars and restore some semblance of intelligence in our policies and enforcement thereof.

There are some things we can’t do much about, but these people are breaking the law and that is something we can fix by enforcing the laws that do exist. If you or I break the law, we pay the fine and or go to jail.

We do not pass go and we do not collect $100 dollars. They break the law and end up with Park Place and Broadway.

It’s time for our representatives to represent us.
