Timothy Groleau

QUINNESEC — Timothy J. Groleau, 52, of 706 Mullen St., Quinnesec, died Sunday, May 11, 2008, of injuries sustained in a dirt biking accident in Humboldt Township.

Tim was born Aug. 27, 1955, in Clintonville, Wis. He was a 1973 graduate of Kingsford High School and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1975 to 1978. Tim has worked as an auto body technician for Zam’s Services for many years. He has also owned and operated The Lawn Service for the past 21 years.

Tim married the former Joan Bellmore on Sept. 21, 1991, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Quinnesec.

Tim’s love of music began when he started playing the drums at age three. Over the years, he has played in several local bands. Tim enjoyed riding his RD400 street bike and his dirt bike. He also enjoyed restoring vintage Rupp snowmobiles and walking the dogs.

Tim loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Norway where he was a Sunday School teacher and confirmation guide. Tim was also a member of the Floriano-Stecker American Legion Post 340 in Hermansville.

He is survived by his wife, Joan; children, Jodi (Jason) Kangas of Iron Mountain, Rachel (Tom) Allen of Iron Mountain, Roy (Kristi Antonissen) Groleau of Norway and Darren Groleau of Quinnesec; grandchildren, Reece and Oskar Kangas and Lillian Allen; his sister, Cindy (David) Duecker of Twin Lakes, Wis.; father-in-law, Walter Bellmore of Norway; sister-in-law, Diane Bellmore of Norway and brother-in-law, Mark (Patti) Bellmore of Quinnesec; stepfather, James “Shorty” DeLongchamp of Kingsford; niece and nephews, Jason Duecker, Brianne and Brandon Bellmore; great-nephew, Noah Duecker; aunt, Deloris Kivikas and several cousins; his father, Orville Groleau of Holman, Wis.

Tim was preceded in death by his mother, June DeLongchamp; brother, Thomas Groleau; grandparents, Roy and Hilda Kleiss; mother-in-law, Lois Bellmore and nephew, Stefan Duecker.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home and on Friday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. from Bethany Lutheran Church in Norway.

The Floriano-Steck American Legion Post 340 will conduct memorial services at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church in Norway. Rev Michael Langlais will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Dale Freeman, Jack Paquette, Brad Dishaw, Robbie Nault, Keith Phelps, and Ralph Pizzi.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his memory.
