Jack Webb
IRON MOUNTAIN - Jack Webb of 1112 Carpenter, died on Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, at his home with his family by his side. He was a lifelong resident of Iron Mountain.
In his younger years, Jack attended an electrical school receiving his electrical certificate upon completion.
He married Katherine Steiner in Iron Mountain on Feb. 19, 1941, and she preceded him in death on March 30, 2000, after 59 loving years of marriage. Jack worked in construction for many years, even working on the Mackinac Bridge.
Jack is survived by his children, Jim (Donna) Webb of Houston, Julie Turrie of Niagara, Wis., Joan (Mike) Blankenheim of Shawano, Wis., Pete (Dottie) Webb of Iron Mountain, and John (Mary Ann) Webb of Tyler, Texas, and Nancy Webb of Iron Mountain;18 grandchildren, Tracy Webb, Michael Kearney, Paul Webb, Steven Webb, Mark Webb, David Webb, Tammy Ferguson, Kelly Braun, Michelle Kearney, Ann Dobbe, Sarah Blankenheim, Kristin Lawniczak, Merijo Schornstein, Rebbeca Turrie, Scott Webb, Carie Gunsales, Jeff Webb and Brian Webb; 30 great-grandchildren and special friend, Billie Gammey.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church.
The funeral Mass will follow at 12 noon at the church. Fr. Daniel Moll will offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
Burial will be in Iron Mountain Cemetery Park.
Pallbearers will be Michael Kearney, Paul Webb, Steven Webb, Nick Webb, David Webb, Scott Webb, Jeff Webb and Brian Webb.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tracy Webb, Tammy Ferguson, Kelly Braun, Michelle Kearney, Ann Dobbe, Sarah Blankenheim, Kristin Lawniczak, Merijo Schornstein, Rebecca Turrie, and Carrie Gunsales.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Dickinson County Cancer Unit/Loan Closet at 1401 S. Carpenter Ave., Iron Mountain, MI 49801.
