Morning paper on Labor Day
IRON MOUNTAIN - The Daily News will publish a morning edition on Monday, Labor Day.
Business offices of The Daily News will close at 3 p.m. Friday for the Labor Day weekend.
Offices will also be closed on Monday.
The Circulation Department will be open to the public from 7:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
Additionally, circulation staff will be available via phone until 7 p.m. on Friday, and from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Monday.
Library closed on Sept. 1
IRON MOUNTAIN - All locations of the Dickinson County Library will be closed Monday, Sept. 1, to celebrate the Labor Day holiday.
Winter hours at the Main library go into effect Tuesday, Sept. 2, Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. North Dickinson hours will be Monday and Thursday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Hours at the Solomonson Branch in Norway remain the same throughout the year.

Courthouse to close on Monday
IRON MOUNTAIN - The Dickinson County Courthouse will be closed on Monday, Sept. 1 for Labor Day.

Kingsford man sentenced
IRON MOUNTAIN - A 25-year-old Kingsford man has been sentenced to 12 months in the Dickinson County Jail for delivery of a controlled substance.
Bryce Joseph Chartier was not ordered to be on probation and the charge of possession of a controlled substance marijuana was dismissed. He was given credit for 102 days served.
He was represented by Iron Mountain attorney Dan Jaspen.
Post offices shut for holiday
IRON MOUNTAIN - In anticipation of reduced customer traffic at postal retail units and in an effort to reduce expenses most post offices in Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula will be closed for retail sales on Saturday, Aug. 30 through Monday, Sept. 1.
Area offices that will keep their normal Saturday retail window hours are Kingsford, Escanaba, Gladstone, Marquette, ishpeming, Menominee, Houghton, Calumet, and Ironwood.
The U.S. Postal Service recommends that customers who need stamps utilize Automated Postal Centers at select Post Office lobbies, Stamps on Consignment locations and Contract Postal Units in local communities.
The United States Postal Service also offers on-line mailing and shipping options for customers at www.usps.com.
