IC Board cancels
meeting Sept. 9
CRYSTAL FALLS - Iron County Board of Commissioners Chair Rosalie King has announced that the board's Sept. 9 regular meeting has been canceled due to lack of pending agenda items.
The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 1:30 p.m. in the Commissioners Meeting Room in the Annex Addition of the Iron County Courthouse in Crystal Falls.
Republicans set
fund-raiser event
KINGSFORD - The Dickinson County Republican Party will hold a corn roast fund-raiser for Julie LaCost and Mike Falcon who are running for public office. The event is slated for Sunday at 4 p.m. at Cowboy Lake Pavilion in Kingsford.
Reservations can be made by calling Mike at 779-2146.
IC Museum plans pie social
CASPIAN - The Iron County Museum will host its annual pie social on Sunday, Sept. 21. The event includes musical entertainment from Chet and Ginny, a book signing by Logos Arete author Daniel Baumgartner, and a special fall sale in the museum shop.
Apple, raspberry, rhubarb, blueberry, and pumpkin pies will be available for the admission price of $5. Money raised by the event will help defray the museum's utility bills over the winter.
Patrons will also have the chance to check up on the museum's major project of the summer, the preservation of the log buildings that the Junior Historians reassembled in order to create a logging camp and a homestead.
SHARE orders
due Sept. 9
IRON MOUNTAIN - SHARE order for September is due Tuesday, Sept. 9 with pick up on Sept. 27.
Order forms are available at St. Vincent de Paul in Norway and Iron Mountain and at various other locations. Order forms are also available on line at www.sharewi.org.

Order forms may be dropped off for Iron Mountain at 104 West A St. in Iron Mountain until noon on Sept. 9, and for the Crystal Falls site they may be dropped off at the VFW until 8 p.m. on Sept. 9.
Volunteers needed
for haunted house
IRON MOUNTAIN - One Community Through The Arts (OCTTA) is currently looking for volunteers to help with its annual haunted house production, Twisted Nightmare 7, throughout the month of October.
The group has scheduled a meeting for Saturday, Sept. 13 at 11 a.m. at the Old Robbins Funeral Building on 219 Hughitt St. for anyone interesting in participating in the production. Experience is not necessary.
Anyone wishing to work in the production must be at least 16 years old or have special permission from the OCTTA.
Production dates have been tentatively set for Oct. 16-18, Oct. 23-25, and Oct. 29-31.
