Memorial Park project

POSTED: September 12, 2008

The Veterans Memorial Park will be located across from the U.P. Veterans Memorial on top of Pine Mountain, and organizers are now offering printed brick pavers for the walkway leading to a MIA/KIA monument placed on the hillside near the pavilion. Although the memorial is reserved for veterans' names only, these bricks will be printed with family and business names that support veterans. "We have received many calls from people that want to purchase a brick but don't have a veteran in the family to buy one for," said Dennis Larson, committee member. There will be different size bricks available to accommodate large group names or businesses with a logo. Personalized Brick Paver forms will be accepted until Friday, Sept. 26 for installation on Oct. 11. Any orders received after this will be put on file for installation in the spring. Order forms may be obtained from the American Legion Post in Iron Mountain or by calling Dale or Carol Larson at 774-0142.
