IRON MOUNTAIN - The Kingsford High School class of 1952 will meet for lunch at noon Monday, Oct. 13, at the Northside Grill and Bar.

lunch on Tuesday

IRON MOUNTAIN - The Iron Mountain High School class of 1951 will meet for a noon luncheon at the Holiday Kitchen on Tuesday, Oct. 14.

All classmates and guests are welcome.

Faithorn church

dinner Saturday

FAITHORN - The Faithorn United Methodist Church is hosting their annual Harvest Dinner on Saturday, Oct. 11, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Faithorn Township hall.

Cost is $7.50 for adults, $3.50 for children ages 12 to five and free for children under five.

Menu includes chicken, meatballs, mashed potatoes, gravy, dressing, vegetables, coleslaw, and all the trimmings. Pies will be served for dessert.

breakfast Saturday

IRON MOUNTAIN - The monthly breakfast of the Iron Mountain High School class of 1957 will be held on Saturday, Oct. 11, at Country Kitchen in the Midtown Mall at 9 a.m.

All classmates, spouses and guests are invited.

Fall festival

dinner Oct. 19

KINGSFORD - American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford is hosting their annual fall festival and famous chicken dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 19.

Cost is $7 for adults, $4 for ages six to 12, and children five and under are free.

meeting Oct. 15

IRON RIVER - The Daughters of Isabella St. Agnes Circle 518 will hold their monthly business meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 1 p.m. in the St. Agnes gathering room.

Members are encouraged to attend this important meeting to decide on the future of the Daughters of Isabella.

Hostesses are Margaret Scalcucci and Julie McDonald.

At the last meeting, the charter was draped for deceased member Leone Sanders. Rena Yackel won the 50/50 and door prizes were won by Geraldine Miller and Barbara Serena. Bingo was played following the meeting.

MARSP plans political event

IRON MOUNTAIN - The Dickinson Chapter of MARSP plans a political event for Oct. 16 at Pine Grove Country Club in Iron Mountain.

The two candidates for the Michigan legislature, Mike Falcon and Judy Nerat, will both present their platforms and take questions from the audience. John Meyer, a Dickinson MARSP legislative ambassador, will moderate this forum.

There will be a social hour and cash bar from 11:30 a.m. to noon followed by a noon luncheon, 50/50 defense fund drawing and the political forum.

The luncheon menu consists of salad, hot rolls, stuffed pork chops, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, pumpkin pie and beverage.

The cost is $11 which includes gratuity. MARSP members and spouses may make reservations by calling Faye Dykstra at 774-6365. Deadline for reservations is today.

Any retired Michigan public school employee may join MARSP by calling Kathy Cattelan at 774-3390 or Jane Kamper at 774-9671.

Community breakfast set

QUINNESEC - Quinnesec Methodist Church will offer a community breakfast from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12.

Menu includes breakfast meats, pancakes, eggs, french toast, sweets, coffee, juice and fruit. Families are welcome. Donations will be appreciated.

Country auction

meeting Oct. 14

KINGSFORD - All women are invited Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 6:30 p.m. at Koinonia Cafe for the Christian Women After 5 dinner.

This night will be the group's big "country auction" with Carol Whippler as the auctioneer. Many different items will be available for the auction.

Women are reminded to bring along an item for the auction if they can. "This is a great fun time with wonderful food," said a spokesperson.

Speaker for the evening is Lois Nyhuis from Sheboygan, Wis., on "A Packrat Finds a Great Treasure." She is a garage sale shopper, likes to travel, "eat out." Lois is humorous, upbeat, loves life and people, a freelance writer and amateur artist. She has visited all 50 states.

October's menu is baked chicken, garlic mashed potatoes, asparagus with cheese sauce, greek salad, fresh homemade rosemary bread, pineapple upside down cake with topping, coffee, tea, and milk.

Cost is $12. To make reservations call Faye Dykstra at 774-6365. Unable to make the dinner, try the luncheon at noon Wednesday, Oct. 15, at Pine Grove Country Club. Call Lynn Hitt at 779-1828.
