Kingsford Public Safety Department fire fighters responded to a house fire at 400 Maple St. in Kingsford Tuesday evening. Witnesses at the scene said that the building contained three apartments, and all tenants were believed to be safe. However, neighbors said that the tenants owned several pets that remained trapped in the smoky house. One of the tenants reported that the fire may have started near the furnace. An official fire report was not available this morning.
