Norway man hurt in IM crash

IRON MOUNTAIN - A 65-year-old Norway man had to be extricated from his vehicle early this morning after being hit by another vehicle at the intersection of Carpenter Avenue and H Street.

The Iron Mountain Police Department was dispatched to the accident scene at 6:03 a.m. today. A westbound vehicle, driven by a 65-year-old Norway man, was struck by a northbound vehicle, driven by a 59-year-old Iron Mountain man.

The 65-year-old Norway man had to be extricated from his vehicle by the Breitung Township Fire Department. Police said he was then transported to the Dickinson County Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The Norway man was issued a disregarding a flashing red signal ticket.

Iron Mountain Police were assisted on scene by the Kingsford Public Safety Department, the Dickinson County Sheriff's Department, Veterans Administration Police, Breitung Township Fire Department, Beacon ambulance, and the Iron Mountain Fire Department.
