Auditorium 'Take a Seat'

fund-raiser continues at IMHS

IRON MOUNTAIN - Fund-raising efforts are continuing to complete the auditorium renovation project at Iron Mountain High School.

The "Take a Seat" fund-raiser is looking to raise enough money to purchase all new seats for the remodeled auditorium. The seats can be purchased to honor a family; memorialize a loved one, friend or teacher; pay tribute to an individual; or commemorate a special date. The personally engraved nameplate will be affixed to the arm of the seat in the IMHS auditorium.

For nearly 100 years, the auditorium has been available for school and public functions and the restoration is long overdue, according to school officials.

The "Take A Seat" fund-raiser is looking at 700 new seats to be placed in the auditorium. The goal is to start putting the new seats in the auditorium in June 2009.

The seats are available for purchase in four levels of sponsorship - $225 for Director, $200 for Bravo, $185 for Patron and $175 for Balcony. Donations without the purchase of a seat are also being accepted.

The school district has set up several ways people can purchase the seats including the online payment processing system, PaySchools. This is a secure payment system accessible from the Iron Mountain Schools website at www.imschools.org.

Payment through PaySchools may be made by e-check or Mastercard, Visa or Discover cards. A receipts will be immediately issued by e-mail confirming the purchase. For the protection of people purchasing the seats no credit card or bank information is stored in the database.

Other ways to pay for a seat can be made by ordering by mail, in person at the school or by phone. Seating assignments will be on a first come, first served basis. Special seat number requests will be assigned as available.

For more information, go to www.imschools.org and click "enter" on the auditorium picture.

A current college grade transcript with your name, credits earned and GPA must also be brought in for review.

The distribution schedule is as follows:

-December 29-30 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

- Jan. 5-16 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

If other arrangements need to be made, contact Mel Laydon at the high school at 779-2610 or laydonm@imschools.org.
