Soggy start
Rain stops Norway Speedway late model featureNORWAY - Mother Nature stormed into the Norway Speedway racing opener Friday.
With nine laps remaining, rain washed out the Dickinson County Racing Association late model feature.
Tom Lindquist looked to be on his way to his first Pepsi Late Model A feature win, but the rain would not let up.
"With the cool temps, there was no way the action could continue at the Speedway safely," according to a Norway Speedway Web site report.
BK Enterprises and Conery Sports will sponsor week 2 racing Saturday at Norway Speedway. Qualifying starts at 5pm, with racing at 6:30 p.m.
NOTES: Dick Coleman raced around Tom Gee Jr. with five laps remaining to win the Pepsi Late Model fast dash ... Wes Thompson held off 2009 "Rookie" contender Chris Lassila to win the first Auto Value Super Stock heat ... Gene Coleman and Ryan Hood came together in the Pepsi Late Model semi-feature. Coleman looked to be on his way to a victory when the car slowed abruptly and, with Hood no room to avoid contact, the two made contact ... Jason Hubbard slid his way to victory when the Norway Slammers attempted to continue the evening.
