Mark Adams

KINGSFORD - Mark C. Adams, 80, of Kingsford, died Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at his home.

He was born on Jan. 1, 1929, in Stratford, Wis., son of the late Anthony and Cecelia (Steines) Adams. He served with the United States Army during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge in January 1953, Mark became a nursing aide and worked at the V.A. Medical Center in Iron Mountain until retiring. Mark has been a resident of the area since 1957.

He was a member of American Martyrs Catholic Church, the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 23 in Kingsford, and the Edgar American Legion Post 393 in Edgar, Wis.

Mark is survived by two brothers, Tony (Elaine) Adams of Wausau, Wis. and Ken Adams of Virginia and several nieces and nephews.

Mark was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley and Gervase "Bud" Adams, and two sisters, Lucille Hilber and Martha Woldt.

The visitation will be Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford.

The funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at the church. Fr. Joseph Gouin will offer the Mass of Christian Burial.

Burial will take place at the St. John's Cemetery in Edgar.
