Blast football:
Practice tonight
NORWAY - U.P. Arctic Blast of the Northern Elite Football League will practice at 5:30 tonight.
Blast lineman Bill Durfee of Marquette suffered an ankle injury in last week's win over the Northeast Wisconsin Storm. He is out of the hospital and doing well, according to a Blast official.
Blast (1-5) face the Superior Stampede in Ishpeming on Saturday.
Golf:
Myllyla third
ESCANABA - Kingsford High School golf coach Jim Myllyla along with Steve Douglas and Steve Scott finished third in the Coonie Hogan Memorial scramble at Escanaba Country Club.
Jim Brayak, Tyler Way and Justin Williams shot a 10-under par on the front nine Sunday to post a 116 (59-57). Defending champions Marc Mortel, Jamie Mullin and Billy Nelson notched a 117 to match Myllyla's team.
Volleyball:
Open gym
KINGSFORD - Volleyball players from throughout the area are invited to an open gym Thursday nights at Kingsford High School.
Girls in grades 9-12 should report at 6 p.m. beginning Thursday, June 25.
"Girls don't have to be Kingsford students," said Flivver assistant Jerry Roberge.

Tourney Friday
SPREAD EAGLE, Wis. - A Texas Hold 'Em "Player Appreciation" tournament originally slated for Saturday at the Knights of Columbus Hall has been changed to Friday at 7 p.m. at the Spread Eagle Supper Club.
Advance tickets are available from RAS Distributing or the Spread Eagle Supper Club.

Adult tourney
KINGSFORD - U.P. Tennis Open, featuring nine levels of competition, will take place Saturday, June 27, and Sunday, June 28, at Kingsford High School.

Moose home runs
knock off Niagara
NORWAY - Ten-year-old Dane Vandenhueval hit his first Little League home run, a two-run shot, and Bryce Grayvold followed up with a two-run homer to power Norway Moose past Niagara 8-2 in Major baseball at Marion Park.
Moose pitchers Johnny Edwardson, Grayvold and Cody Carlson combined to strike out six, walk four and give up three hits. Patrick Moreau had two hits for Niagara.
Moose (9-5) offense was provided by Grayvold and Carlson with two hits each.
Elks socked seven hits, including three triples (two by Sawyer Kujala and one by Jared Gauthier), in sinking Felch 5-1 in Iron Mountain North Major Little League baseball at Larry Barkle Eastside Field.
Brock Grenier kept Felch's bats in check most of the night, yielding two hits, fanning 10 and walking one.
Reggie Johnson tripled for Felch.
Lucas Jauquet tripled and doubled to trigger Sagola beat UCT 11-4.
Sagola pitchers Collin Roell and Garrett O'Neil allowed three hits, fanned 11 and walked four. UCT's Jacob Cousineau, Jacob Weslin, Owen Petschar and Clay Branom permitted seven hits, fanned 11 and walked eight.
Max Williams added two hits for Sagola. Zack Saurez came through with his first Little League hit.
