IRON MOUNTAIN - The albino deer at City Park in Iron Mountain is being watched more closely after receiving a leg injury recently.

Gary Lefebvre, mechanic for Iron Mountain's Department of Public Works, said Blizzard was kicked or stepped in a hole sometime this fall. The deer's injury is to his front right leg where there is a large knot.

"He's actually been getting better now and is walking fine," Lefebvre said.

A veterinarian has been to the park to tend to Blizzard.

"The vet says he should be fine. We are keeping an eye on him, so it does not turn into an open sore," Lefebvre said.

Lefebvre said Blizzard is a buck and has small antlers. Being kicked by another deer is common at this time of year in breeding season.

I thought he wsnt accepted either but my dad, (and avid hunter), pointed out that Blizzard was lying next to a couple other big bucks. Perhaps it is the time of year.
