NORWAY - The Norway Area Business Association (NABA) has announced the community's annual Christmas celebration, "A Victorian Holiday" will be held Friday, Dec. 4.
As in the past, there will be a Northern Lights fireworks display starting about 6:15 p.m.
Following the fireworks the holiday parade will begin in front of St. Mary Catholic Church on Main Street in Norway at approximately 6:30 p.m. and end at city hall.
Immediately after the parade, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be meeting and greeting children at the city hall.
Big Bird, Elmo, Cookie Monster, Winnie the Pooh, Tweetie Bird, Sponge Bob and
Snow White will also be at the band shell, located next to city hall, to have their pictures taken with children. Persons are asked to bring a non-perishable food donation to have their child's picture taken with their favorite cartoon character.
"NABA would like to see participation by the local businesses and organizations," said an association spokesperson. "Please plan to join the festivities."
The association is also encouraging persons to dress in the "Victorian Holiday" theme and join in the parade.
