Anglers wait for ice

December 12, 2009
The Daily News

IRON MOUNTAIN - With very little safe ice to fish and a major winter storm rolling through at midweek, area bait shops reported little activity this week.

Smaller inland lakes are said to be freezing first, and conditions are changing daily, but no ice was yet considered safe. Now is the time most anglers focus on getting their ice-fishing gear ready.
