March 20, 2010
The Daily News

IRON RIVER - The 4-H Guided Adventures program, supported by 4-H Mentor Michigan Initiative, Michigan State University Extension, AmeriCorps, and in partnership with Kinship of Iron County, is looking for adult volunteers to serve as mentors for Iron County youth.

A recruitment event will be held at the West Iron District Library on Saturday, March 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lunch will be provided at no cost.

"I'd like to have the community come down and check out what we are trying to accomplish and see how they can help make the program a success," said Jacob Erickson, Iron County 4-H Guided Adventures AmeriCorps member.

If you have any questions about the 4-H Guided Adventures program, becoming an adventure guide, or getting an explorer involved, please call Erickson at (906) 875-6642, or visit the Iron County MSU Extension Office located in the Iron County Courthouse in Crystal Falls.
