U.P. Trappers to meet on April 3

The Daily News

IRON MOUNTAIN -The second quarterly meeting of U.P. Trappers Association will be held at the United Sportsmen Club in Merriman on Saturday, April 3, at 10 a.m.

The meeting is open to current members of all the U.P. districts and other trappers interested in finding out what the U.P. Trappers Association is doing for them.

"The most important thing on the agenda is to have a vote on the many changes to the current by-laws proposed by the committee, our CPA, and those changes already discussed at the January meeting," said club representative Bob Steinmetz. "It is critical that the by-law changes get finalized at this meeting, so it is important that all members try to attend."

Also of interest to trappers will be a discussion on whether or not the association should once again sponsor a fur sale where all Upper Peninsula trappers can sell their furs.

Many have asked about other options for selling furs in addition to the Canadian auctions and traveling fur buyers. An association- sponsored sale bringing in buyers from several states would help fill this void.

For directions to the United Sportsmen Club or other questions about the meeting please call John Gunville at (906) 563-5940.
