COMMONWEALTH, Wis. - Commonwealth Sportsmen's Club has announced its upcoming schedule of events.
A 3-D archery league begins July 7 and will run nine weeks. Registration forms are available at the club. Team sponsorship is $30 per two-man team. Members should know all of the targets are set up and ready for practice at the club. Scorecards are available at the archery tune up area.
Trap Shooting opening day is today from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. This will be an open practice trap shooting day. Cost is $5 per 25 (members) and $8 per 25 (non-members).
A couple of extra shotguns are available for use. Factory-loaded 12-gauge ammo is also for sale at the club. A 4-H certified instructor will be on hand for newcomers or those who need assistance. The day will also be utilized for gathering information on trap shooting leagues.
Club plans a Tuesday evening league if there is enough interest. Leagues are open to all members, non-members, men, women and children 12 and over. Starting day of trap leagues is tentatively set for June 8, at 5:30 p.m. and will run till 8:30 p.m.
The following dates have been set for Saturday open trap shooting and league make up day: June 12, June 19, July 3, July 24, August 14, August 21. Times are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each date.
End of summer Blow Out will be held Sept. 18, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sept. 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Food and refreshments available this weekend as well as some friendly trap shooting competitions for fun and prizes. Tentative last Saturday open shoot will be Oct. 1 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Larger groups or companies that would like to shoot together should contact Sean Franklin at (906) 396-7020.
A tentative date of Sept. 11is set for the KAMO youth training at the club grounds. End of September will see the start of "Big Winter" ticket sales, ending at the 2011 Fisher Lake Ice Fishing Derby, set for Jan. 15, 2011.
Club membership forms are available at Florence Sport & Bait. Membership dues are $15 for an adult and $25 for a family which includes all children under 18.
