FLORENCE, Wis. - A Classic Car, Cycle, and Tractor Show is featured at the Florence County Fair on Sunday, Aug. 29. Classic Car owners and enthusiasts from many area clubs have been invited, and fair attendees will be able to vote for the People's Choice award.
Franklin Trophies and Awards has designed the trophies, and has donated both the Best of Show award and the People's Choice award.
Registration is from 10 a.m. to noon Central time and is $5 each car or cycle.
Dash plaques will be provided to the first 50 registered cars, and the first 10 registered motorcycles.
Ribbons will be displayed on all tractors exhibited.
Several trophies will be awarded, based on exhibitor votes, including Best of Show, Top of Class (5 categories), Best Convertible, Best Pre-War, Best Pre-War modified, Best Cycle, Best Tractor, and more. Ballots are due in by 1 p.m., and the award presentation will begin at 3 p.m.
The Florence County Fair runs Friday, Aug. 27 through Sunday, Aug. 29.
New this year is a carnival and midway from Spectrum Entertainment. Great Music includes Chet & Ginny, Mike Wilcox, Trebella Voce, Two Thirds Full, DJ Rick Hiltonen, Country Classics, and Karaoke. Younger Woodery is back for a 2 day encore performance of carving up logs into lifelike wildlife creations. These critters will be given away as prizes to support the fair.
You can also experience the Magic of Jim Mitchell, Guitar Hero contest, Little King and Queen Contest, Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?, Name that Tune, cricket spitting contest, a Draft Horse Pull, Sheep Dog Herding, Penny Scramble, demonstrations, and more.

Several prizes are available, including 20 prizes of 1 face cord each of firewood, humidifier (Moroni Heating), chainsaw (Florence Power Equipment), a subscription to the Mining news, deer corn from Kelley's corner market, and a chimney cleaning(Jayco Construction). Tickets are available at businesses throughout Florence County, as well as at the Florence Community Center.
