WAKEFIELD - A multi-jurisdictional effort has led to the arrest and identification of three suspects implicated in stealing approximately $50,000,000 in property.

The Michigan State Police Ontonagon Detachment advised that two weeks ago an investigation was conducted at Timberline Power Sports in Bergland.

The thefts of several outboard motors were investigated and while working with the Down River Area Narcotic Office and the Shiawassee County Sheriff's Department, three suspects were developed.

Later in the investigation, the MSP West Branch Post, Houghton City Police, Saginaw Police, and Buena Vista Police had also reported thefts that correlated with the thefts being investigated.

Two male suspects from the Metro Detroit area and a female from Lansing were identified.

As a result a search warrant was initiated at a residence in Romulus, Mich.

Recovered in the thefts were diesel tractors, lawn motors, a recreational ATV, household appliances, boat motors, trailers, and multiple items of outdoor equipment. Also seized were numerous narcotics, approximately $18,000 in cash and two vehicles.

The suspects whose names and ages are being withheld pending arraignment on multiple felony charges were lodged at the Shiawassee County Jail.

Police continue to search the history of complaints throughout Michigan to ascertain the identification of property, along with additional suspects.

State Police advise that with the collaborative effort of each agency and the utilization of undercover investigative resources throughout Michigan, this case will continue to develop.
