IRON MOUNTAIN - Buckmasters American Deer Foundation will host a "Successful Hunters Night" on Thursday, Nov. 18, at Northwoods Wilderness Outfitters.

The family event will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. It will feature wildlife biologist Bob Doepker of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Environment , along with TV host Buck LeVasseur.

Once again, Buckmasters and Project Venison will accept donated deer to be processed for local food pantries. Hunters who donate a buck or doe to help the hungry will be entered into a drawing to win a muzzleloader.

There will be a scale available for all hunters to weigh their deer. There will also be a drawing for prizes, with food and refreshments available.

Northwoods Wilderness Outfitters is located at N-4088 Pine Mountain Road, near U.S. 2.

Buckmasters American Deer Foundation is an independent non-profit corporation that serves the public through a number of charitable activities that include: Project Venison; hunts for physically challenged sportsmen; college scholarships for worthy students pursuing careers in wildlife management/conservation; and hunting and educational programs for children who would otherwise not be exposed to the outdoors.
