You would think Boston bad guys would learn about messing with Spenser.

The quick-witted private eye accepts the case to look out for heralded art expert Dr. Ashton Prince and his ransom exchange for a stolen painting.

But Prince and the painting blow up in front of Spenser, who works to solve the murder and missing painting.
