Craft and bake sale set Friday, Saturday

December 9, 2010
The Daily News

IRON MOUNTAIN - The annual holiday craft and bake sale will be held Friday and Saturday at the Midtown Mall in Iron Mountain. The sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.

"This holiday tradition is a must for the shopper who is looking for something locally crafted and unique. Local bakers create a variety of baked treats that serve as gifts and as a heling hand to those too busy to do holiday baking," a spokesperson said.

In addition to the craft and bake sale, the Midtown Mall is hosting a variety of holiday events on Saturday including a book signing Saturday by three local authors at Book World from noon to 3 p.m. The authors are Camille Bauman, Joseph Massie and Ida Nord.

At the Christopher and Banks store, they will have live window models displaying holiday and winter fashion. A chocolate tasting will also be held at the Front Porch.

The Kingsford High School Chorus will be caroling the halls at the hall starting at 10 a.m. and the Iron Mountain High School senior class will be wrapping presents as a fund-raiser.

The Great Start Parents Coalition will host their annual holiday family craft activity in the small event bay next to Rent All from 10 a.m. to noon. This event allows families with small children to make and take holiday crafts. And at noon, the area will be turned over to Jim's Music for the annual children's holiday music recital.

Santa visits the mall every Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Freeman's Photography.
