HERMANSVILLE. The sixth annual Mid-Winter Trappers Workshop will be held Saturday, Feb. 5, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Central time) at the Community Center in Hermansville.

The event is sponsored by District 3 of the U.P. Trappers Association. Admission is free, and open to the public.

Bob Whitens, who has been trapping for more than 60 years, will be teaching the younger kids how to trap weasels and the older kids how to trap mink, muskrats, and raccoons.

Rich Clark (from Willow Tree Fur and North American Fur Auctions), who is one of the better fur handlers in the area, will be showing the youngsters how to properly prepare their furs for market.

Lunch will be available for purchase.

Two trapping supply dealers will have a large stock of trapping supplies available for purchase, so beginning and experienced trappers will be able to purchase needed supplies.

Free starter supplies will be given to all youngsters attending, if enough donated items are available.
