Iron Mountain Police Department officers are investigating a two-vehicle accident at the Iron Mountain (Kmart) Plaza light on U.S. 2. Police said the call came in at 8:07 a.m. Both vehicles were damaged in the crash, and there does not appear to be any major injuries. No one was transported to the hospital, officials said.
Iron Mountain Police Department officers were dispatched to a two-car personal injury accident on U.S. 2 at Ridgeview Drive at 8:07 a.m. Wednesday. A vehicle driven by an 18-year-old man from Iron Mountain was exiting the Kmart entrance and turned left onto U.S. 2 in front of a vehicle was attempting to drive across U.S. 2 in order to pull into the Kmart entrance, said Lt. Ed Mattson. The second vehicle that was crossing U.S. 2 was driven by a 37-year-old man, also from Iron Mountain. The 18-year-old man, who was issued a failure to yield the right of way at an intersection citation, sought his own treatment for a minor injury, and declined transport to the hospital. Assisting on scene was Beacon Ambulance and Iron Mountain Fire Department fighters, who responded to clean up the fluid that spilled from one of the vehicles. Both vehicles had to be towed from the accident scene.
