Republic youth camp to host free archery event

REPUBLIC - On Aug. 6 and 7, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Eastern time), Chief Lake Wilderness Youth Camp in Republic will be hosting a free "Youth Archery Event."

The youth camp currently under construction is holding this event in the "Activities Area" behind the camp. The event is open to youth of all ages. Participants under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Youth groups are welcome but must be supervised.

Pre-registration is recommended but not required. The event will focus on knowledge, use, application and safety of archery. Qualified instructors will be on hand to provide instruction and assistance.

A free hotdog, chips and bottled water lunch will be provided.

Also, there will be a drawing for a Darton Ranger II archery set for some lucky participant.
