As soon as possible

September 23, 2011
The Daily News

EDITOR:Wisconsin now requires a photo ID in order to vote. There is no charge for this, as charging would be a poll tax and violate federal law. Obtain this from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation at the sites where they issue driver licenses.

In Florence, Wis., that means going to the Wild Rivers Interpretive Center building at 4793 Forestry Drive, in Florence.

The hours are 9:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of each month. I will be happy to help those with no transportation to get to the center on this day, to the limits of my vehicle and the hours they are open.

My phone is 715-696-6681.

Please do not let the new state regulations limit or terminate your ability and right to vote.

I might suggest that as the hours are so limited, i.e. once a month, you should not put this off. Plan to do it as soon as possible. Every vote counts. The people who changed the regulations know this all too well, thus the change.
