MARQUETTE - An autopsy conducted at Marquette General Hospital failed to determine an immediate cause of death for a Skandia man whose body was found Sunday afternoon in Skandia Township.
The body of Bryan Lee Vartti, 50, was located at 12:20 p.m. Sunday by personnel from the Marquette County Search and Rescue team. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Vartti's body was situated in a wooded area, a short distance off a railroad grade, between Dalton Road and a place where Vartti's 1999 GMC Jimmy was found Saturday, rolled over on its roof.
A cause of death is now pending a Marquette County Medical Examiner's report, with toxicology test results expected in about two weeks, according to state police.
"We still don't have any reason to believe there's foul play involved," said Michigan State Police Sgt. Kevin Dowling, of the Negaunee post.
