MARQUETTE - The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill advisory until 9 a.m. Friday.
The advisory is in effect for Dickinson and Iron counties, as well as most of the central and western Upper Peninsula, and northeastern Wisconsin.
Wind chills around 15 below zero early this evening will drop to 25 to 35 below zero after midnight tonight and persist into Friday morning.
These very cold winds chills could result in frostbite and hypothermia if precautions are not taken, National Weather Service officials said.
A wind chill advisory means that very cold air and strong winds will combine to generate low wind chills.
