Linda Rochon

VULCAN - Linda K. Rochon, 62, of Vulcan, died Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital.

She was born on April 5, 1949, in Norway, the daughter of the late Tauno and Gloria (Karki) Saarela.

She married Eldon Rochon on April 16, 1966, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Norway. He preceded her in death on July 10 1997.

Linda worked for many years at Foley-Martens. She enjoyed hunting and going to camp, where she loved to feed and watch the deer. Linda also enjoyed watching CNN and had strong political views. She also liked to knit, crochet, do crossword puzzles, work jigsaw puzzles, play Skip Bo, and cribbage.

Linda was a great mom and grandma. She was so happy to have a great-grandson. She also loved her dog, Rambo-Beano. Linda had a great personality and a good sense of humor.

She is survived by three children, Connie (Monty) Winkler of Greybull, Wyo., Wendy (Dave) Dudenas of Vulcan, and Eldon (Laura Champagne) Rochon Jr. of Hermansville; three grandchildren, Ben Gendron of Norway, Kyle Dudenas of Vulcan, and Alicia Rochon of Greybull; one great-grandson, Dominic Rochon of Greybull; three sisters, Janet (Edward) Haelterman of Cunard, Bonnie Haelterman of Marquette, and Tammy Cooper of Pontotoc, Miss.; two brothers, Jeff Saarela and Richard Saarela , both of Los Angeles; two step-grandchildren, Ashlee Winkler and Ryan Winkler; one step great-grandson, Noah Winkler; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Linda was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amanda Peterson; two sisters, Donna Haelterman and Debby Penberthy; and a brother, Roger Saarela.

Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Stephen Cowen will officiate.

Following the services, a gathering will be held at the C&R Bar in Aurora, Wis.
