IRON MOUNTAIN - Colder temperatures and windy conditions are settling in for the next couple of days, reports the National Weather Service.
The National Weather Service of Marquette reports a hazardous weather outlook has been issued for north central and northeast Wisconsin today and tonight.
In the meantime, light snow is making for slick roads and sidewalks.
Officials advise to leave ample distance between vehicles and motorists should give themselves plenty of time to reach their destination.
A special weather statement has been issued for Dickinson, Delta, Marquette and Menominee counties.
Blowing snow resulted in visibilities less than one-quarter mile at times this morning.
Snow and wind were expected to diminish by mid-morning.
Subzero wind chill readings are forecast across the entire area for tonight. Wind chill values will drop to 20 below zero in north central Wisconsin.
Officials said this could result in frostbite for those not dressed for the weather.
Locally, Saturday's forecast calls for mostly sunny with a high near 16, and a northwest wind between 10 and 15 mph. Wind gusts could reach as high as 25 mph.
Sunday is expected to be sunny with a high near 26, and a west wind between 10 and 15 mph.
Monday's high will be around 29 degrees.
