IRON MOUNTAIN -- Members of the Iron Mountain City Council were all in agreement during Monday's meeting -- something needs to be done to help residents living near a bar on the city's northside.

Complaints have come in over the past three years from homeowners about the level of noise, garbage being tossed in their yards, destruction of yards and property, and people leaving the bar and driving through and across their yards.

Rick Sherman of 407 4th St. in Iron Mountain was the first of several neighbors living around the North Stables Pub, located at 416 4th St., to ask that the council do something to help them with this problem.

"This has been going on for nearly three years -- the inconvenience and interruption of our lives from this bar. At the 2 a.m. closing time, we have to put up with loud noises, fights, and terrible language. We have called a dozen times in the last couple of years because the noise from the bar penetrates my house at night. The police have been called numerous times by me and my neighbors," Sherman said.
