IRON MOUNTAIN - A 35-year-old Iron Mountain man was arrested for possession of a firearm while intoxicated during the early morning hours on Friday.
At approximately 2:20 a.m. on Friday, officers from the Iron Mountain Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of Iron Mountain Street and East Ludington Street on a report of several subjects fighting in the street.
Chief Peter Flaminio said it was also reported a gun may have been involved.
Several of the individuals in the altercation had fled the scene by the time officers arrived. However, one subject was apprehended after a short foot pursuit.
Initial investigation led to the arrest of a 35-year-old Iron Mountain man for possession of a firearm while intoxicated.
A firearm was also recovered a short distance from the scene.
The incident remains under investigation and anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Iron Mountain POlice Department at (906) 774-1234.
Officers were assisted on scene by officers from the Kingsford Public Safety Department, Dickinson County Sheriff's Department and the Michigan State Police.
