IRON MOUNTAIN - A plea has been entered in the case against a Norway man.

Ryan Michael Erickson, 32, has pleaded no contest to driving while license suspended causing serious injury and habitual offender, second.

A no contest plea was entered to the charge due to potential civil liability.

Dickinson County Prosecuting Attorney Stephanie Brule said a sentence of least 24 months in prison is recommended per a plea agreement.

A charge of failure to stop at the scene of an accident, serious impairment will be dismissed at sentencing.

According to the felony complaint, Erickson struck a 47-year-old Iron Mountain woman with his vehicle on Oct. 6, 2011. She suffered a fractured leg, two fractured vertebrae, and an injury to her sternum.

Due to the defendant's employment, sentencing was set for Sept. 4 at 9 a.m.

Erickson is being represented by Dan Anderson of Iron Mountain.

Judge Mary B. Barglind is presiding over the case.

Erickson was previously convicted of breaking and entering a building on Sept. 18, 2006.
