EDITOR:I can't speak for all of us Bible-thumping, gun-toting, freedom lovers out there, but I'll respond to Jennifer Kellstrom's letter "Employees have lost a lot" published May 9, 2012.
I'm still overjoyed that we the people removed the mafia styled strong-arming technique known as collective bargaining. We the people made a choice. We the people stood up to the corrupt system.
We the people spoke with a deafening loudness that we're broke and can't afford the costs associate with teacher's unions.
For those that still believe that collective bargaining is a constitution right, please show me the proof. I am a very reasonable man. If I missed something, I'd be happy to be corrected.
Show me the facts. Don't bring any of that emotional feeling garbage to the table because facts and emotions do not mix.
Who are the actual employers of public school teachers? We the people are. Look at the youngsters around you.
Their parents who struggle to make ends meet, the private sector working man, and the scroungers out there that struggle just to survive are your employer.
If working for we the people is so bad because we just want the teachers to contribute to their benefits, just like everyone else has to, just remember that nobody is being forced to work as a teacher. You should be thankful that you have a job.
For those that claim that Gov. Walker's budget is nothing but pure evil, how many times has our former governor, Mr. James E. Doyle, proposed a budget that had a plan to reduce Wisconsin's debt?
I'll those in the audience answer this one.
