EDITOR;My family and I want to commend the community for how great everyone has been during a challenging time for us.
Three weeks after buying our home at 888 Evergreen Court, we had a house fire on May 16th.
Due to the prompt response of our local authorities, no one was injured during the fire and it was contained to our house only.
On the scene were Kingsford Public Safety, Aurora Fire Department, Beacon Ambulance, Wisconsin Electric, and Iron Mountain Police Department.
Under stressful circumstances the individuals who were there to assist with the fire were professional, kind, and very patient with us.
Amongst all the chaos the firefighters took the time to ask my wife what she needed most out of the house. Minutes later they came out with all of her photo albums, thus preserving priceless memories of our family's past.
As the news of our circumstances traveled, we have experienced goodwill from so many of you.
Care packages have arrived at our clinic containing everything from stuffed animals and toys for our kids, to clothes and food for my wife, Kelsey, and myself.
Locally-owned businesses have sent over gift cards and care packages as well.
These acts of kindness have been so helpful during this transition stage for my family.
At times like this we are reminded of why we are so fortunate to live in this community.
Now that we are organized and back on our feet, we just wanted to take a moment and let everyone know how we feel about what everyone has done.
