FLORENCE, Wis. - Many summer programs are being offered by the Florence County UW-Extension for the youth of surrounding areas.
Programs include Food, Fun, & Fitness (FFF), Outdoor Adventure, and Swimming Lessons.
The thrill of the Olympic Games comes to Food, Fun, & Fitness this summer and promises to bring participants four weeks packed with adventure, and new experiences.
Children entering first through fifth grade in the fall are invited to join in this experience.
FFF will be offered in Florence on Mondays and Wednesdays and in Aurora at the Hillcrest Building on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
FFF will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the weeks of June 18-28, and July 9-19. The cost of the program is $30 before June 6th. Space at both sites is limited.
The Outdoor Adventure Program will be held July 23-26 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for youth entering 6th-8th grade in the fall.
The Outdoor Adventure is also being offered with a bag lunch will be provided each day. The cost of the program is $40, and space is limited.
The USDA Free Lunch Program will be serving free meals from two sites this summer.
Florence Elementary School, located at 5844 Bill Anderson Drive, will serve breakfast from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday-Friday in June and July, excluding the week of July 2-6.
The second location is at the Hillcrest Building, located in Aurora on the corner of County N and County B. Breakfast will be served at this location from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., and lunch will be served on Tuesdays and Thursdays in June and July from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
