Passenger dies in car accident

MENOMINEE - One person is dead from a single vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of Rangeline road and Highway M-35 in Menominee County on Sunday.

Deputies from the Menominee County Sheriff's Department were dispatched to a vehicle in the ditch on fire at approximately 11:47 p.m. Sunday.

Upon arriving, deputies found a single vehicle accident at the intersection of Rangeline Road and Highway M-35, which was fully engulfed in flames.

The driver was transported to Bay Area Medical Center and then airlifted by Eagle 3 to St. Vincent in Green Bay for unknown injuries. The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.

No further information is available until the next of kin have been notified and the investigation is complete.

Assisting at the scene were the Menominee Police Department, BAMC paramedics 883 and 885 Extrication, Menominee/Ingallston Fire Department, and the Michigan State Police.
