Charges filed in Walmart incident

IRON MOUNTAIN - A 23-year-old Iron Mountain man is facing charges in reference to incidents that occurred at Walmart on or about March 31 and April 1.

Michael Jo-Rivers Cootware is charged with aggravated indecent exposure, two counts of retail fraud, second degree and habitual offender, fourth offense notice, said Lt. Ed Mattson of the Iron Mountain Department.

He was arrested by the Iron Mountain Police Department.

The Iron Mountain Police Department received significant assistance from the loss prevention/security personnel at Wal-Mart in reference to this investigation, Lt. Mattson said.

Cootware has also been charged with resisting and/or obstructing a police officer and habitual offender, fourth offense notice. These charges are from an incident that occurred on East Fleshiem Street on May 17.

Cootware is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing on the above charges at 10:15 a.m. on June 26 in Dickinson County District Court.

At this time, he is lodged in the Dickinson County Correctional Center on a $25,000 cash/security bond, Lt. Mattson said.

Attorney Daniel Anderson of Iron Mountain has been appointed to represent Cootware on the charges.
