The police show up

June 15, 2012
The Daily News

EDITOR:I never felt I had to explain myself, my husband, or my son. Until I lived in Iron Mountain.

I'm originally from Niagara, Wis.

I have issues that I've tried to explain to the last place John worked. He's a hard worker and a good man. He loved his job. His job accused him of stealing when he's honest and worked for them for 5 years.

They wouldn't listen to him or accept the truth when I wrote it to them in a letter. Plus he wasn't even at work what the money came up missing. He has tried to get unemployment and was denied. We couldn't afford a lawyer to fight it. Now we live on my Social Security and food stamps. We've lived here 15 years at our home. Are we supposed to move so he can work?

My son is a good boy, full of respect and politeness. He loves himself and his home.

He got straight A's from North Elementary. He got moved to Central where there were bullies and teachers who either didn't understand him, plus tried to change him.

He lost respect and is now going to Alternative Ed. It wasn't because he wasn't good enough for the school. It was because they didn't respect him. He is excited about going to a school that will take the time with him and give him respect.

And the neighborhood I live in; I like and respect a couple of my neighbors.

The new neighbors come to my door and yell at me about not doing something we've done for 15 years. They call the cops repeatedly. They finally put up a fence so we didn't have any more trouble with them. They called the cops on my dog for barking at fireworks on the Fourth of July.

Another neighbor accused my husband of shooting bottle rockets toward his yard between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. that night. I went over and showed him two receipts one that said 9:29 p.m. at K-Mart and 9:58 at Storheim's just to prove it wasn't him.

One of my neighbors has a dog. It crosses property of my next door neighbor to irritate my dogs that I was told to leash and we fenced in instead. What happened to the leash law?

They are all complaining about the bar and the police.

Maybe the bar needs to lower its music that the people inside are enjoying and watch the door closer as to what goes outside it.

The rest can be blamed on the people. Leave the bar and the police alone.

Take it from me, the police show up no matter when they are called.
