The Iron Mountain City Council will meet today at 6:30 p.m. in the council room of the city hall building, 501 S. Stephenson Ave. in Iron Mountain.
Two public hearings are scheduled - one on the adoption of an amendment to the code of ordinances regarding noise and the other to establish an industrial development district for Northern Star Industries.
Under old business, the council will adopt the noise ordinance amendment, establish the IDD, and approved a resolution of appreciation to Pat Nicometo and Home Depot.
Under new business, items include adoption of a fee schedule, approval of the year end budget amendment, authorize soliciting bids for 2012 paving, appoint Dean Petschar to the Zoning Board of Appeals and approve a contract with MDOT for a Small Urban program.
The Kingsford City Council will meet today at 6:30 p.m. in the council room, located upstairs of the city hall building, 305 S. Carpenter Ave. in Kingsford.
Committee recommendations regarding the Pit Bull Ordinance and Sanitary Conditions section of the Animal Ordinances will be considered under old business.
A proposed resolution establishing non-union salaries and wages for fiscal year 2012-13 will be approved under new business at the meeting.
Four public hearings are scheduled for the meeting. At 6:45 p.m. is a hearing on the vacating of part of Woodward Avenue; 7 p.m., a hearing on the Industrial Development District for Eagle Tool; at 7:15 p.m., there is a hearing on the Industrial Facilities Tax Exception for Eagle Tool; and at 7:30 p.m., a public hearing regarding new personal property tax exception for Eagle Tool.
The Norway City Council will meet today at 7 p.m. in the city hall building, 915 Main St. in Norway.
Agenda items include four resolutions - city of Norway General Utility and Service Rates, city of Norway Pay Rates for Non-Union Employees, General Appropriations Act; and Operating and Capital Improvement Budget.
The council will also consider approval of the Sturgeon Falls Hydroelectric Facility vertical house roof replacement and Oak Crest Golf Course golf cart replacement.
The Florence School District Board of Education will meet today at 5 p.m. in the high school in room 215.
Action on the employee handbook is expected under old business along with reports by the president, administration and committees.
New business includes accepting a lawnmower bid, 2012-13 technology purchases, 2011-12 budget revisions, July meeting schedule, and authorizing the district to spend for necessities until the 2012-13 budget approval at the September annual meeting.
A closed session is also planned on consideration of staffing, contracts, compensation and personnel issues.
