U.P. Book Tour in Hermansville

HERMANSVILLE - U.P. Book Tour 2012 will make a stop at the Hermansville Branch Library on Saturday at 3 p.m.

Authors appearing include Eric Gadzinski, host; Sue Harrison; Caitlin Horrocks; Catie Rosemurgy; and Eric Torgersen.

Book sale/signing will follow the event.

'Nosferatu' on Friday

IRON MOUNTAIN - The Dickinson County Library will show the horror vampire classic film "Nosferatu" on Friday, June 22 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

During Summer Reading, the Dickinson County Library is running a Teen Film Festival that will highlight the best in classic horror films. Nosferatu, the 1922 German silent film, is one of the first vampire films ever made, and has influenced much of modern day horror cinema.

This program is open to teens and tweens in grades 6 and up, and is sponsored by the Honorable Thomas and Tami Slagle, Barbie Jo and Mary.

IM class of '57 reunion set

IRON MOUNTAIN - The Iron Mountain High School class of 1957 will hold its 55th class reunion starting Friday, at the Pine Mountain Lodge. Social hour will begin at 7 p.m. with class pictures to be taken at 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday, the class will meet at City Park at 12:30 p.m. for a bocce tournament. At 6 p.m. on Saturday night, there will be a dinner and dance at the Elks.

On Sunday, everyone is encouraged to meet at 10 a.m. at the Elks for a breakfast buffet.

Rentschler lists hours

IRON MOUNTAIN - Shirley Rentschler, national service officer for the Military Order of the Purple Heart has announced her upcoming schedule.

On June 22, June 25, June 27 and June 28 she will be in her office on the first floor at the Oscar G. Johnson Veterans Administration Medical Center in Iron Mountain, room 1102, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information call 1-800-215-8262 ext. 34442.

She will also be in Iron River on June 26.

Come to Supper in Florence

FLORENCE, Wis. - The First Presbyterian Church of Florence's monthly "Come to Supper" will be served in its Fellowship Hall located on the corner of Lake and Norway Streets in Florence on Monday, June 25 from 5 p.m. 5:45 p.m.

This free hot meal is open to the public and is served on the fourth Monday of each month unless otherwise announced. The public is invited to come and enjoy a free hot meal and good fellowship.
