Flivver Open:Tickets on sale

KINGSFORD - The eighth annual Flivver Open, a fund-raiser for Kingsford High School athletics, tees off Friday, July 13, at Pine Grove Country Club.

Drawing tickets are now on sale from Kingsford Flivver Booster Club members , with cash prizes of $1,000, $500, $300 and $200.

Basketball:Bobcats camp

FLORENCE, Wis. - Bobcat Summer Skills Camp will return Monday, July 23, through Thursday, July 26, in the Florence High School gym.

Kari Flunker, Haley Underwood, Amy Johnson, Katie Kilton, Dan Zoeller and Bryan Bomberg will serve as coaches.

Sessions will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. (entering first grade through sixth) and 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (seventh grade and up).

Camp fee ($25; $60 per family) includes a basketball.

Knights:Baseball draw

NORWAY - Norway Knights Athletic Booster conducted its final drawing for the baseball team fund-raiser. June winners follow:

WIMBLEDON (AP) - Five-time champion Venus Williams lost in the opening round of Wimbledon for the first time since 1997, falling 6-1, 6-3 to Elena Vesnina of Russia on Monday. She hadn't lost in the first round at any Grand Slam in 6 1/2 years.
