IRON MOUNTAIN - For the sixth year, members of the Tour de Dickinson and Italian Fest Committees are once again working together to bring fun and tourism to the area.
The Tour de Dickinson bicycle ride is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. at the bottom of Pine Mountain on Aug. 18,, and is now organized and coordinated by the Dickinson County Bike Path Committee.
Italian Fest, which is sponsored by Iron Mountain's Downtown Development Authority/Main Street, is scheduled to start at noon in downtown Iron Mountain near City Hall. Officials estimate about 500 bicyclists may attend the ride this year and about 2,500 people to attend Italian Fest.
About 175 volunteers and assistance from the community make these two events possible and a success. The Tour de Dickinson riders and volunteers are given a bracelet pass for free admission to Italian Fest.
