IRON MOUNTAIN - Michigan State Police at the Iron Mountain post are investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred on Tuesday at 8:55 p.m. on Lower Pine Creek Road and the intersection of Mooses Road.
A vehicle driven by Heather Janssen, 38, of Vulcan, was traveling east on Lower Pine Creek Road and lost control.
The vehicle crossed the westbound lane and struck a utility pole.
Police said the driver, Janssen, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers were assisted by the Dickinson County Sheriff's Department, Norway Fire Department, North Alert ambulance, Beacon ambulance, and We Energies.
State troopers are continuing to investigate.
