EDITOR:We have lived in Iron Mountain for 14 years. We retired here and think it is a wonderful place to live.
The prime reason was the quality of life we have found here. Dickinson County has a wonderful library, a dedicated and well functioning health department and a community college to be proud of. What is disconcerting is that the Dickinson County Board of Commissioners has often failed to fully support these wonderful institutions. It is time for a change.
Barb Kramer is well qualified to become a Dickinson County commissioner. She is "home grown" but brings a wider perspective of what a community can become.
She stands for financial resource development, economic development, recreational and cultural development, which are all things that improve our quality of life. It is no longer viable to just maintain the status quo, as her opponent has done.
As retired Air Force, I also know that she is supportive of local veterans affairs. She will provide good oversight to our local Office of Veterans Affairs, assuring that all veterans continue to get the best possible service.
Please vote Aug. 7 for Barb Kramer.
