Classy Lassies gather Thursday

IRON MOUNTAIN - The Classy Lassies will be going to Princeton Gardens on Thursday, Aug. 2.

The group will meet at Riverside Methodist Church in Niagara at 10:35 a.m. or the north junction parking lot at 10:50 a.m.

Teen film at library

IRON MOUNTAIN - The Dickinson County Library will show the eminent zombie classic, "Night of the Living Dead" on Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

During Summer Reading, the Dickinson County Library is running a Teen Film Festival that will highlight the best in classic horror films.

"Night of the Living Dead," the first 1968 cult classic and the first "modern" zombie film, revolutionized the horror movie landscape and influenced thousands of films, including "Shaun of the Dead," "28 Days Later," "Resident Evil," and countless others.

This program is open to teens and tweens in grades 6 and up, and is sponsored by Thomas and Tami Slagle, Barbie Jo and Mary.

FP pasty sale Friday

CRYSTAL FALLS - The Forest Park Academic Booster Club will be sponsoring their annual Pasty Sale on Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the basement entrance of the United Lutheran Church to coincide with the Crystal Falls Fungus Fest.

Pasties are $3.75 each and sold ready to eat.

Pre-orders can be made by calling the Forest Park superintendents office at (906) 875-6761 by Thursday.

This pasty sale is the Academic Boosters primary fund-raiser.

The funds raised will be used to help cover costs for such activities as the junior college trip, middle and high school honors programs, Excellence in Education, Quiz Bowl, Business Professionals of America, physics trip and Robotics club.

These funds are also used to enhance classroom learning experiences.
