Mountaineers:Booster meeting

IRON MOUNTAIN - Mountaineer Athletic Booster Club meets 4:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6, at Iron Mountain High School's Izzo-Mariucci Center.

Upcoming "Meet the Mountaineers" night along with the annual fund drive will be discussed.

"All parents and fans are asked to attend this important meeting to kick off our fall sports at Iron Mountain," a booster spokesman said.

Oak Crest golf:Division One tie

NORWAY - Mike and Geno Solda have moved into a tie with Sam Fredrick and Ryan Allred for the Division One lead in the Forward Financial Monday Night Golf League.

Mike Solda's medalist round of even par 36 helped create the Division One tie at 31 points.

In Division Two, Phil Neveau and Burry Venstra lead with 34.5 points. Tim Krause was low medalist with a 38.

Nordics:Practice times

FELCH - North Dickinson County School football practice will begin Monday, Aug. 6.

Equipment will also be handed out Aug. 6, with seniors first at 3 p.m. Practice is slated for 5 p.m.

Volleyball practice will start at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8.

Athletic physical must be on file in the office prior to practicing.

TimberStone:Andreoli ace

IRON MOUNTAIN - Cliff Andreoli fired a hole-in-one Monday at TimberStone Golf Course's 139-yard 17th hole.

"Cliff's initial reaction was 'at least I hit the green,'" reported Joe Rizzo, TimberStone director of golf. "As the ball continued to roll towards the flag, the witnesses (Ray Rouse and Dave Rouse) shouted 'go in' and it did."

Andreoli used a 7-iron for the ace.
